Judge Kelley Robertson

Kelley Martin Robertson was appointed to the State Court bench by Governor Brian Kemp on March 27, 2023.  As a state court judge, Judge Robertson presides over misdemeanors and non-equity civil matters.

Judge Robertson is active in the legal community and devotes her spare time to a number of civic organizations.  She is a member of the Orr Inn of Court and the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville. She also currently serves on the boards of Gateway Domestic Violence Center and Rape Response.  

Prior to joining the bench, Judge Robertson worked as a prosecutor in the Northeastern Judicial Circuit, serving as the chief assistant district attorney from 2021-2023. During her tenure as a prosecutor, Judge Robertson focused on the prosecution of crimes against children, championing the establishment of a special victims’ unit within the district attorney’s office.  She also served as a Special United States Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia. Robertson frequently taught and presented at a number of programs with the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, including Train the Trainers, Basic Prosecutors’ Boot Camp, Summer Conference and Advanced Crimes against Children.  

A native of Buford, Judge Robertson is a graduate of Emory University and the University of Georgia School of Law. She and her husband live in Gainesville and share two teenaged sons. The family enjoys being outdoors and traveling together, particularly visiting National Parks.
