First elected in 2004, Commissioner Billy Powell continues to push for a more efficient government and better service to citizens in Hall County's day-to-day operations. Powell, a Hall County native, is a commercial realtor with Hokayem Company. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and has more than two decades of project management experience. That experience plays a key role as he works with staff to implement solutions and as he listens to his constituents' ideas and concerns.
As a member of the Hall County Board of Commissioners, Powell is active in ongoing SPLOST infrastructure projects and strives to be a good steward of taxpayer dollars. He worked hard to make sure that the largest construction project ever undertaken in Hall County, the $54-million jail facility, was completed on time and under budget in 2007.
Commissioner Powell is an active member of Gainesville First United Methodist Church.
