Marty Nix, appointed Assistant County Administrator in July 2011, also oversees all responses in Hall County for Code Enforcement, Animal Control, and Public Safety communication systems.
After graduating from North Hall High School, Mr. Nix attended Truett-McConnell College and graduated from North Georgia College with a degree in Criminal Justice. He also obtained a masters degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University and holds a degree from the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College.
Mr. Nix has been employed with Hall County since 1984 and has over 25 years experience in law enforcement. He has worked in the Sheriff's Office, the District Attorney's Office and as Deputy Warden at Hall County Correctional Institution. Mr. Nix is a strong advocate for victims of crime and has served on the Board of Directors for Rape Response and Friends of Recovery. Mr. Nix is very active in the community and currently is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville.
Mr. Nix enjoys organic gardening, camping, biking, running and music. A native of Hall County who grew up in the Clermont area, Mr. Nix and his wife, Jan Nix have 2 children.
