The Hall County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of eight new fire apparatus during their voting meeting on Thursday, Oct. 28 at the Gainesville Civic Center.
“This new apparatus is critical as we continue to protect and serve the citizens of Hall County,” Hall County Fire Chief Chris Armstrong said. “I would like to personally thank the Hall County Board of Commissioners for making a continued investment in Hall County Fire Services, providing the men and women of our department with the tools they need to do their jobs at the highest level each and every day.”
The purchase is the second phase of a replacement strategy approved by the Board in 2019. Nine additional new apparatus were delivered and put into service earlier this year.
“This continues to replace components of an aging fleet, reducing maintenance costs and assuring reliable response performance for our citizens,” said Armstrong.
Pierce Manufacturing in Wisconsin has been selected to build the new trucks, which are expected to be delivered in late 2022.
