For the fifth consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Hall County Government the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2021 budget.
"This is truly a significant achievement that is representative of Hall County’s dedication to responsible stewardship and fiscal transparency,” said Hall County Administrator Jock Connell. “In addition, this award reflects the commitment the Hall County Board of Commissioners and staff display in meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.”
In order to receive the budget award, Hall County had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation, assessing how well the budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications device. Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories and the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories to receive the award.
"We are honored to be recognized for this achievement, which celebrates the diligent efforts of our Financial Services staff as they lead the budget process for our organization each and every year," said Connell.
Hall County has received the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award every year staff has applied for the distinction.
