The Northeastern Judicial Circuit was honored to learn that one of their own, Hal Walker (pictured), received the 2020 Accountability Court Star Award presented by the Council of Accountability Court Judges of Georgia during their annual training conference held by virtual webinar this week.
Walker has been a member of the Hall County Drug Court team for over 15 years and has served as the Defense Attorney in the Hall County Family Treatment Court since its inception.
Walker’s commitment to Hall County’s Accountability Courts is unsurpassed, with a reputation among his peers as going above and beyond his oath as legal counsel. He’s been known to provide pro-bono services in State and Municipal Courts in order to help his client progress and enter the Drug Court treatment program.
“Hal is an integral component to the success of our programs. He is a true champion for recovery and second chances,” said Jessi Emmett, Treatment Services Director.
Drug Court’s presiding judge, Hon. Jason J. Deal, said, “Hal is an advocate, not only for participants, but also for the counselors, case managers, and others on the team. Whenever there is a crisis in Drug Court, Hal Walker is the first person I call. He is someone to rely upon and his wisdom and insight benefit us all.”
