Hall County’s on-call contractors have begun work on the structural repairs to Claude Parks Road in North Hall, which was damaged and subsequently closed in the recent flooding events.
A culvert underneath the road was severely damaged in the heavy rains, resulting in a large void under the road and a slope failure. Though the road may have appeared safe to the naked eye, the damaged culvert presented a serious hazard to motorists.
Over the weekend, concrete was poured around the voids surrounding the pipe, and backfilling was underway Tuesday.
Weather-permitting, crews should have the necessary repairs complete in three weeks. The road will remain closed during this time.
As a reminder, many Hall County facilities are closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Citizens are reminded that many forms of business, including online payments, tag renewals and more can be conducted online. A list of contacts for specific departments is available, should residents have any questions about what business can or cannot be done via telephone, email or online.
