Hall County Commissioners on Monday, Feb. 25, got to see what the final product is expected to be once renovations at Hall County's main library branch in Gainesville are completed.
Construction on the project is set to begin April 1, with the library temporarily moving into the Turner, Wood and Smith building for the duration. The building is owned by the City of Gainesville. The move will happen in mid-March if everything stays on schedule.
BCA Studios, a local firm, is handling the architecture on the project, while Scroggs and Grizzel, another local firm, and the Hall County Construction Division will handle the contract work.
The project will include a general face lift for the building (which is located on Main Street in Downtown Gainesville), a new entry, a larger youth area, a story time room, study rooms, improved security in the history/genealogy area and a large meeting room.
Construction is expected to be completed in late summer 2020.
