The Elections Supervisor for Jackson County has been tapped to serve as Elections Superintendent for Hall County Government. Lori Wurtz will join the Hall County Elections Department in that capacity on April 16.
"Lori brings a wealth of knowledge to Hall County, and the Elections Board and I are committed to making sure the department experiences a smooth transition with her arrival," Hall County Board of Elections Chairman Dr. Tom Smiley said. "We look forward to working with Lori as the board moves our attention toward addressing broad policy issues."
Wurtz has been with Jackson County since 2008, and she has served as their Supervisor of Elections and Voter Registration there for the past seven years.
"I am passionate about the election process, and I look forward to serving the people who live and vote in Hall County," she said.
Wurtz fills a vacancy left by the resignation of Hall County's former Elections Superintendent in November 2016. Since that time, County officials have been evaluating the structure of the department and the needs of the community before moving forward with hiring a replacement.
