This is to advise that there was contact between a rabid skunk and a dog recently in the 5600 block of Clarks Bridge Road in Clermont. The skunk was shipped to the Georgia Public Health Lab- Virology Section in Decatur. Hall County Animal Control was advised Tuesday that the skunk tested positive for rabies. This is the second confirmed case of rabies in 2018. Positive alert signs will be posted in the area where the rabid skunk was located. Animal owners are encouraged to vaccinate their domesticated pets for rabies.
