Hall County Government facilities, including the government center, courthouse, community centers, landfill, compactor sites, animal shelter and libraries, will remain closed the duration of the day, Wednesday, Jan. 17 out of an abundance of caution given the hazardous road conditions brought on by severe winter weather overnight.
"Staff will be monitoring conditions overnight and into the morning in an effort to make the most appropriate decision regarding any possible delays and/or closures tomorrow," said Assistant Hall County Administrator Lisa Johnsa.
In addition, the Hall County Board of Assessors meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 17 has also been canceled.
Essential public safety and public works personnel will continue service as usual. Many county services are always available online: residents can renew a vehicle tag, find a new pet, pay taxes and more at hallcounty.org.
Anyone wishing to report ice on the roadway or other non-emergency issues is asked to contact Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812.
