The Hall County Board of Commissioners voted Thursday to appoint Jock Connell as County Administrator and Lisa Johnsa as Assistant County Administrator. Both previously held the same positions on an interim basis.
“We are fortunate to have both Jock and Lisa commit to leadership positions within the County on a more permanent basis,” Hall County Commission Chairman Richard Higgins said. “Their experience and knowledge in regards to growth and development will be instrumental in guiding this organization in the years to come.”
Connell retired in 2009 from Gwinnett County, where he was employed for 23 years. Following his retirement, he served as interim Hall County administrator in 2011 and as a special projects manager for the County in subsequent years. He was hired as interim County Administrator in September 2017.
Meanwhile, Johnsa worked for Gwinnett County Government for over 30 years before retiring in 2009. During her tenure there, she served as Finance Director and Assistant County Administrator. In 2011, she served as the Interim Finance Director for Hall County. She was hired by Hall County on an interim basis in October 2017.
Connell and Johnsa join Assistant County Administrator Marty Nix on the administrative leadership team. Johnsa and Nix’s dual Assistant County Administrator positions are a part of an overall restructuring plan to strengthen the County’s service to citizens as population numbers increase and development continues up the I-985 corridor.
