Due to the threat of severe weather in the area, Hall County's libraries, compactor sites, landfill and three community centers will close at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11. Any ballgames or activities scheduled after that time at the East Hall Community Center, North Hall Community Center or Mulberry Creek Community Center are canceled as well. "Our public safety personnel and road maintenance crews have done an outstanding job preparing for the potential hazards this storm may bring, and they will continue to work throughout the severe weather event to ensure the safety of our citizens," Interim Hall County Administrator Jock Connell said. "We ask everyone to use extreme caution as the effects of Tropical Storm Irma continue to move through our area." As always, anyone requesting emergency assistance is encouraged to dial 911, however, anyone wishing to report a non-life-threatening, weather-related issue such as fallen trees in the roadway and/or flooding on the roads is urged to call Hall County's Emergency Operations Center at 770-718-3300 in an effort to leave 911 lines open for emergency calls. |
