The Hall County Tax Commissioner’s Office has launched a new website to help residents find the most up-to-date information regarding property taxes, tag renewals, billing cycles, delinquent tax payments and more.
“More and more people are turning to technology to conduct their daily business, and we want our office to best serve those individuals as technology advances,” Hall County Tax Commissioner Darla Eden said. “We’re happy to provide this new resource in conjunction with the mailing of 2016 property tax statements earlier this month.”
The new site offers a variety of features, including the ability to search for property tax statements as well as a tax estimator tool, allowing realtors and/or individuals the ability to view an estimate of tax for a home based on its approximate value and location. In addition, the site offers users access to up-to-date payment, interest and penalty information. As always, the ability to pay property and motor vehicle tax is available online as well.
Eden said a particularly innovative function of the new site is the ability for taxpayers to cancel motor vehicle tags online, an idea which was derived from a member of her staff.
“Previously, the cancellation process was heavily involved, requiring residents to cancel their tags via mail, fax or in person,” she said. “With the new site, taxpayers will be able to easily and securely enter their information and receive an email notification letting them know the cancellation has been processed.”
Eden said Hall County is the first county to offer that specific feature.
The new Hall County Tax Commissioner’s website can be found at hallcountytax.org or tax.hallcounty.org. It can also still be accessed via the County’s webpage, hallcounty.org.
