The Hall County Board of Tax Assessors meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 20 has been rescheduled to the preceding Wednesday, May 13 at 4 p.m. Hall County Board of Assessors meetings are usually held at 4 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of every month in the HR training room on the second floor of the Hall County Government Center, located at 2875 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville.
In addition, members of the Board of Assessors plan to attend the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Issues Committee meeting on Wednesday, May 13 at 8 a.m. at the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, located at 230 E.E. Butler Parkway in Gainesville.
The Board of Tax Assessors is the five-member body responsible for the preparation of the annual tax digest, which is the taxable value of all properties in a jurisdiction. The Hall County Board of Commissioners appoints board members and sets the budget. Otherwise, the Board of Tax Assessors operates autonomously under state law. A Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary are elected internally on an annual basis, and the Board appoints a Chief Appraiser.
