A groundbreaking ceremony will be held Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. for a new medical office building and renovations to the Hall County Health Department campus.
“This project will help serve our growing County and provide citizens with adequate space to receive the care they deserve and need,” Hall County District 4 Commissioner Jeff Stowe said. “The new facility, plus state-of-the-art renovations at the existing building, became a top priority following the recent pandemic, and we are excited to see this project come to fruition.”
The total budget for the health department project is $10.9 million and is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and Special Purpose Local Options Sales Tax (SPLOST).
The project will include a new 8,000 sq. ft. medical office building, renovations to the existing 33,000 sq. ft. facility, new parking spaces and an access drive to the current building. Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, which currently leases space in the Health Department Building, will lease the new 8,000 sq. ft. building, with renovations beginning on the existing facility upon NGPG’s move-out.
“We’ve been caring for people in this location for years, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to lease a beautiful, new space,” Daniel Tuffy, president and chief administrative officer for NGPG, said. “This new building will give us the ability to continue that care for years to come as we grow with the community around us.”
The Hall County Health Department project is expected to be completed in 2025.
