For the seventh consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded Hall County Government the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2023 budget.
"We are honored to be recognized for this achievement which recognizes the commitment and dedication of our Financial Services staff to financial excellence, responsible stewardship and fiscal transparency," said Hall County Administrator Zach Propes.
In order to receive the budget award, Hall County had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation, assessing how well the budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communications device. Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories and the 14 mandatory criteria within those categories to receive the award.
"This award reflects the commitment the Hall County Board of Commissioners and staff display in meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting," Propes said. "This is truly a significant achievement that is representative of Hall County’s dedication to setting the standard for excellent local government services."
Hall County has received the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award every year staff has applied for the distinction.
