Deputies responded to the Branch St. area where they located a white female with what appeared to be a gun-shot injury to her head. The female was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators were called to the scene of the shooting and determined the incident to be domestic related. After interviewing parties present during the incident, investigators have charged Steven Keith Murphy 27, of Gainesville with: Aggravated Assault (FVA), Cruelty to Child 1st (FVA), and Possession of Methamphetamine. Murphy fired a handgun at his live in girlfriend, grazing her on the forehead. Murphy’s children were present at the time of the incident in the home.
