Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID), commanded by Captain Dale Long, is tasked with investigating the criminal incident reports taken by the other divisions. CID is also responsible for taking proactive measures to prevent crimes from occurring. Investigators are responsible for case development activities such as, locating/recovering stolen property, gathering/processing forensic evidence from crime scenes, conducting undercover operations, developing informants and interrogating criminal suspects. Investigators then compile and organize this information into a case report before presenting it to the courts for prosecution.
