Training

The training unit, directed by Lieutenant Michael Myers, is responsible for in-service training and continuing education for all of the department's employees. In the spirit of cooperation among local agencies, the Hall County Sheriff's Office also opens many classes to officers from other law enforcement agencies and makes its range facilities available to them as well.

Under the rules of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) Council, certified Peace Officers are required to complete a minimum of 20 training hours annually. In going above and beyond that minimum requirement, the Hall County Sheriff's Office requires its Officers to successfully complete at least 40 training hours annually.

Outside agencies and officers may inquire about class seats or range availability from Sergeant Bonner Burton.
