The Hall County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in an aggravated assault case.
On April 3rd, 2012, Sheriff's Deputies responded to a location on E. Reed Road, in South Hall County, regarding a report of an illegal hunting incident that had turned into an assault. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that a property owner had confronted an adult male and two boys that had been discovered turkey hunting on private property without permission. During the confrontation the adult male, described as possibly of mid-eastern descent, pointed a shotgun at the property owner and pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. The two boys were described as being approximately 11-12 years of age.
The suspect made a cell phone call and was picked up on E. Reed Road by a white male driving a red, Chevrolet Z-71 pick-up truck with a bed-mounted tool box. The driver of that vehicle was described as a slender white male with red or blond-red hair.
Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Hall County Sheriff's Office Tip Line at 770-503-3232. The incident remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigations Division.
