On March 6, 2012, a Special Election will be held in conjunction with the Presidential Preference Primary in Hall County. The voters will answer the following questions:
1. Shall the governing authority of Hall County, Georgia be authorized to permit and regulate package sales by retailers of both malt beverages and wine on Sundays between the hours of 12:30 PM and 11:30 PM?
2. Shall the governing authority of Hall County, Georgia be authorized to permit and regulate Sunday sales of distilled spirits or alcoholic beverages for beverage purposes by the drink?
The special election will be held at the regular polling places for Hall County and the polls will open at 7:00 am and close at 7:00 pm. Last day to register to vote in this election is Feb. 6.
Absentee ballots by mail are available for the March 6 presidential preference primary. Applications are available at the Hall County Elections Office or online.
Early voting will be available Feb. 13-March 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Elections Office, 2285 Browns Bridge Road, Suite 2, Gainesville. The office will be open Saturday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well.
