A Hall County Sheriff’s Office Jailer and a female acquaintance were arrested overnight after a domestic incident in North Hall.
On December 3, 2011 at approximately 1:30 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 2500 block of Venture Drive in Northwest Hall County regarding a domestic disturbance. When Deputies arrived, they discovered that 20 year-old Conner Comeaux and 19 year-old Courtney Barker, both of Gainesville, were involved in an altercation. Further investigation revealed that at some point during the altercation, Mr. Comeaux discharged a shotgun while on or near the roadway in front of the residence. The shotgun was apparently fired into the air, and was not fired at a person or property.
Deputies arrested Mr. Comeaux and booked him into the Hall County Jail, where he was charged with Simple Battery, Reckless Conduct, and Discharging a Firearm Near a Public Roadway. He is currently free on a $7,600 bond. Deputies also arrested Ms. Barker and booked her into the Hall County Jail, where she was charged with Simple Battery. She is currently free on a $5,000 bond.
No one was injured during the incident.
Mr. Comeaux has been employed as a probationary Hall County Jailer since May, 2011. He has been placed on administrative leave while his employment status is under review.
The incident remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigations Division.
