On September 8th, 2011 Hall County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested a suspect in connection with a forgery investigation in South Hall.
The investigation revealed that 24 year-old Misty Lea McDonald, of Gainesville, forged five checks totaling over $800 between February 25th, 2011 and August 13th, 2011. All of the checks were written on closed accounts and tendered at the Ingles Grocery Store, located at 4260 Winder Highway in South Hall.
Investigators obtained warrants and arrested Ms. McDonald without incident. She was booked into the Hall County Jail on five counts of 1st Degree Forgery. Ms. McDonald was on probation for similar charges in 2010, and is being held without bond.
This incident remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division.
