Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Freight Train
6/8/2011

A pedestrian has died after he was struck by a train while walking on the tracks.

Just before 9:00 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train on the railroad tracks just south of the Queen City Parkway Bridge. Upon arrival deputies discovered that a white male had been struck and killed while walking on the railroad tracks by a southbound train.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian failed to move off the tracks as the train approached sounding its horn.

The victims name is being withheld pending the notification of family members.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigations Division.
