Superior Court conducts hearings and trials, both jury and non-jury, in civil and criminal cases. Hall County and Dawson County comprise the Northeastern Judicial Circuit. Under the Georgia Constitution, Hall County Superior Court is a part of the judicial branch of State Government and not a department of Hall County Government. State law, however, makes each county in the state responsible for most of the operating expenses of Superior Court.
