IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING FAMILY LAW INFORMATION CENTER REQUIREMENT AND HOURS

If you are representing yourself in a divorce, the Judge's office will not give you a final hearing date until you have visited the Family Law Information Center (FLIC). This requirement is designed to help you and the Court and reduce the likelihood of your case being delayed due to missing paperwork or a required step not being followed.

There are limited exceptions to this requirement (for example, if you request an appointment and do not qualify for FLIC's assistance). Even in these circumstances, however, the Judge's office will not assign a court date if you do not have the paperwork required to proceed. Call FLIC for more information.

CENTER HOURS

• Walk-in hours: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday (first-come, first-served). Check for courthouse closings (furlough days, holidays and weather-related closings).

• Appointments: available for individuals who qualify (usually two weeks wait). Call (770) 531-2463 or (770) 533-7757 to request an appointment.

PLAN ACCORDINGLY FOR WALK-IN HOURS

• Read / go through your entire packet and instructions before coming to FLIC.

• Arrive early to sign in. WAIT TIMES CAN BE LONG AND TIME IS LIMITED. THE CENTER CLOSES AT 2:00, EVEN IF YOU ARRIVE AND SIGN IN BEFORE 2:00 P.M.. Please understand, due to mandatory furloughs in effect for Hall County, FLIC employees have limited hours and cannot assist individuals beyond those hours.
