Steve Gailey, a Hall County native, was elected District 3 Commissioner in 2002 and is unopposed for re-election in 2006.
A Hall County native and graduate of North Hall High School and Southern Technical College in Marietta, Mr. Gailey previously served the City of Clermont as both mayor and councilman.
As Commissioner, Mr. Gailey has been a strong advocate for his district. He has worked to improve water, sewer and roadway infrastructure in North Hall with cooperative intergovernmental agreements designed to encourage economic growth without threatening the area’s scenic beauty and agricultural heritage. He has been instrumental in planning and developing two major county projects, the new $54 million jail and a new recreation-based community center at East Hall Park.
Commissioner Gailey is President and CEO of a wastewater equipment business with municipal and industrial clients. He and his wife, Elaine, have two children. Daughter Audrey attends North Hall High School and son Will is a student at Gainesville State College.
