District 1 Commissioner Bobby Banks began his first term in office in January 2007. In campaigning for the office, Commissioner Banks said providing sewer service to his South Hall district will ensure that the region continues to attract commercial and industrial projects, which are crucial to keeping property taxes lower.
During his first term in public office, the Commissioner is working to improve the quality of life for county residents in cooperation with municipalities in and around Hall. His goals include effectively implementing strategies in Hall County for expected growth in coming years, and completing projects now underway in South Hall including a new library, new parks and a new community center.
The owner of two trucking companies in Oakwood and one in Union Springs, Ala., Commissioner Banks is active in South Hall Rotary and the Lake Lanier Association. A member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church, Commissioner Banks and his wife, Connie, have three sons and two grand-sons.
