Jim
Shuler has worked for Hall County since 1977, upon graduating from
the Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in civil engineering.
Mr. Shuler is a native of the New Holland community. He began his
career as an engineer in the Public Works Department and was later
promoted to Public Works Director, a position he held for 15 years.
Mr. Shuler was promoted to Assistant County Administrator in 1993,
and was appointed County Administrator in 2000. His responsibilities
have included supervision of capital infrastructure projects funded
through the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).
Mr. Shuler is a registered professional engineer and a member of the
American Public Works Association and the National Association of
County Engineers. Additionally, he has earned certification in professional
management through the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute
of Government. He also serves in an advisory capacity for several
local non-profit agencies.
