Operations - Battalion 1

This battalion, or group of stations, protects the northern portion of Hall County comprising eight fire stations and a separate medical response unit located at Gainesville City Station 1. Each of these stations houses a fire engine and advanced life support ambulance. In addition to these units, Station 2 houses a water tanker, and Station 7 houses a heavy rescue truck and serves as Battalion 1 headquarters.

Station 2


Hall County Fire Station 2

Fire Station 2 was built in 1973 with fire district bond money when the County Fire Department was initially created. This station is projected to be relocated. The current staffing for Station 2 is usually a staff of 6 people. They cover an area from Quillians Corner north on 129.

Current units responding from Station 2 are:

  • 1992 1250 GPM Pumper with 750 gallon tank
  • 1997 500 GPM Tanker with 1800 gallon tank
  • 1997 FK-60 Advanced Life Support Ambulance



Station 3

Fire station 3 was built in 1973 with fire district bond money when the County Fire Department was initially created. This station is projected to be relocated. The current staffing for station 3 is usually a staff of 6 people. They cover the Price Road/Thompson Bridge Road area.

Current units responding from Station 3 are:

  • 2000 1250 GPM Pumper with 750 gallon tank
  • 1998 FL-60 Advanced Life Support Ambulance



Station 6

Fire station 6 was relocated in a new building in 1990 from downtown Lula where it had been housed since the County Fire Department was initially created. The current staffing for Station 6 is usually a staff of 4 people. They cover the area from Lula and north to the County line.

Current units responding from Station 6 are:

  • 1989 1250 GPM Pumper with 1000 gallon tank
  • 1999 FL-60 Advanced Life Support Ambulance



Station 7

Battalion 1 Headquarters

Fire Station 7 was built in 1983 with revenue sharing money. This station is the current headquarters for Battalion 1. The current staffing for Station 7 is usually 10 people.

Current units responding from Station 7 are:

  • 2000 1250 GPM Pumper with 750 gallon tank
  • 2004 Heavy Rescue Truck
  • 1999 Battalion Chief's Vehicle
  • 2000 FL-60 Advanced Life Support Ambulance

Fire Station 10 was built in 2000 with money from SPLOST IV. This station was one of three fire stations opened in 2000. The current staffing for Station 10 is a staff of 4 people. They cover the Gillsville area.

Current units responding from Station 10 are:

  • 1991 1250 GPM Pumper with 1000 gallon tank
  • 1995 FL-60 Advanced Life Support Ambulance



Station 11

Fire Station 11 was built in 2000 with money from SPLOST IV. This station was one of three stations opened in 2000. The current staffing for Station 11 is 5 people.

  • 1996 FL-60 Advanced Life Support Ambulance



Station 13

Fire Station 13 was built in 2001 with money from SPLOST IV. The current staffing for Station 13 is 5 people. They cover the Sardis area of the County.

  • 1998 FL-60 Advanced Life Support Ambulance



Station 15

Proposed Fire Station 15 to be located in the Clarks Bridge Rd.(GA 284)/Honeysuckle Rd. area. Construction on this station is proposed to begin in 2006.

Jesse Jewell Parkway

Med 21 is located in Gainesville City Fire Station #1 on Jesse Jewell Parkway. This allows us to provide better EMS service to the citizens of downtown Gainesville.
