The operations division commands and provides emergency services for over 23,000 calls for assistance annually. This division consists of two battalions. Combined, the battalions are composed of 14 stations, 14 engine companies, 16 advanced life support ambulances, 1 advanced life support engine, 1 ladder company, 1 rescue company, 1 water tender, 1 marine/fire rescue unit, and 1 hazardous materials response unit.
 In addition to emergency responses, operations personnel are tasked with inspecting and maintaining over 5,000 fire hydrants, pre-fire planning over 4,000 commercial properties, and completing prescribed continuing education courses. In 2006, operations personnel logged over 96,000 training hours.
