Business Licenses

The Hall County Business License Department is responsible for the issuance and regulation of Occupational Tax Certificates, commonly known as a "Business License". Anyone operating a business, no matter how large or small, whether from your home or a commercial location, must obtain a business license. The occupational certificate, or "business license" is issued on a calendar year basis, and must be renewed by January 1st of each year to remain valid. Occupational tax fees in Hall County are based on the total number of people working in the business, not on annual income as in other counties. License fees for businesses with an effective beginning date of July 1st or later will be pro-rated.
