This section contains registration information for vehicles that are transferred from another Georgia County into Hall, transferring from another state into Georgia, vehicles purchased from a dealer and vehicles purchased from an individual.

If you were a resident of Hall County last year and renewed your tag in Hall County last year then you should have received a bill in the mail. If not then call us at 770-531-6950
If you received your bill in the mail, fill out the requested information and mail the requested amount in the return envelope.

All title/registration transactions require a current Georgia driver's license reflecting your address in Hall County.
If your driver's license has POB, then you must bring in a current utility bill from your address in Hall County.
From a dealer: Most Georgia dealers will apply for a title in your name with in 3-4 weeks of purchase and will send you confirmation of this. No one can register a car in the state of Georgia with out a title applied for at the time of registration or a dealer/lien holder applying for a title. Other items you will need are:
From an individual: All vehicles must be registered within 30 days of purchase.
You are required to title all 1986 and newer vehicles prior to registration. All owners need to be present with valid identification and acceptable proof of insurance.
If you own your car with no lien holders then you will need the original title, acceptable proof of insurance, and Georgia Drivers License. All owners need to be present to sign the title application.
If you have a lien holder: Contact your lien holder and ask them to fax a copy of your title to our office 770-531-7106. You will need that copy of title, acceptable proof of insurance, Georgia Drivers License. All owners need to be present to sign title application.
If you are leasing your car: Contact your leasing company and request a Limited Power of Attorney for the vehicle to be registered and have them fax a copy of the title they have to our office 770-531-7106. You will need that original limited power of attorney, acceptable proof of insurance, and a Georgia Drivers License.
It is necessary to change the address on your Georgia driver's license prior to registering in Hall County. You may change your address online at www.dds.ga.gov.
You will need to bring your current registration cards and proof that you live in Hall County along with your valid Georgia Drivers License to our office. We will transfer you to Hall County and give you the correct county stickers for your tag at no charge, unless it is time for renewal.
We accept cash, checks drawn on local banks, Discover®, Mastercard® and Visa®. Credit card transactions have a 2.59% convenience fee added to the transaction amount.
