Primarily a rural two-lane road connecting Flowery Branch with Braselton, Spout Springs Road is bustling with traffic from numerous attractive subdivisions, national retailers, churches, and exceptional schools. Hall County, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), is looking at ways to improve mobility along Spout Springs Road, roughly from Hog Mountain Road to New Friendship Road. The project team is examining proposed improvements such as the following:
through lanes
bicycle and pedestrian facilities
improved road access management
improved roadway curvature to enhance safety
turn lanes where needed for safer roadway operations
The end result will be a safer and more efficient Spout Springs Road that provides an enjoyable mobility experience for the users.
Public involvement is a critical component. The project team has already begun meeting with stakeholders along the corridor to gain insight on concerns, issues, and potential solutions. Public meetings are on the horizon, and citizen participation is strongly encouraged. Stay tuned to this page for updates as the project progresses.
Project kickoff: August 2011

Project description: Improvement of vehicular and pedestrian mobility on Spout Springs Road from Hog Mountain to New Friendship Road (The exact endpoints of the project will be determined with a traffic analysis.)
