Hall County Government’s Human Resources Department has been recognized as a state leader in government human resource programs.
Hall County’s Department of Human Resources was awarded the Large Agency Achievement Award at the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association’s (GLGPA) fall conference earlier this month. The award recognizes the overall quality, accomplishments and contributions of an exceptional human resources program.
Hall County Human Resources Director Bill Moats said his department is honored by the award and appreciates the association’s recognition of their recent accomplishments.
“We challenge ourselves daily to be better, to grow bigger, to learn more and to be the very best we can be for the employees of Hall County Government,” Moats said. “Service to others, to the taxpayers, to our co-workers and colleagues is the vision and motto by which we work and measure ourselves.”
Among the recent accomplishments highlighted in the department’s award nomination was the development of an employee health clinic and pharmacy. The Hall County Government Family Health Center has provided employees with more immediate access to healthcare and has realized a savings to both employees and the County as a whole.
“When comparing 16 medical procedures that have been completed through the clinic versus a local medical provider, we have realized an estimated savings of $9,031,” Moats said. “We have determined, in just eight months of use, the cost saved to the County by not applying claims to our medical plan is $390,231.”
The pharmacy has seen similar savings with the average member co-pays decreasing by $4.79 and the County’s total prescription cost decreasing by an average of $14.80 per prescription.
Hall County was also commended for its Wellness Program, Lunch and Learn programs, the availability of online open enrollment and in-house training programs.
“These initiatives would not be possible without the dedication of the Hall County Government Human Resources staff members, who work hard every day to serve the employees of this incredible organization,” said Moats.
The GLGPA Fall Conference was held at Lake Lanier Islands Resort Nov. 10- 13.
