Providers of goods and services who are interested in working with Hall County Government are invited to attend the Purchasing Division’s Vendor Conference on May 20. Topics to be covered include the County’s procurement procedures and writing a Request for Proposal (RFP).
“Hall County is a large and consistent buyer,” said Purchasing Manager Tim Sims. “We’re a stable consumer for businesses, buying many different kinds of goods and services, and we want to make sure we are doing our due diligence in making the purchasing process clear and effective.”
The conference will begin at 10 a.m.in the Commission Meeting Room of the Hall County Government Center, located at 2875 Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville. County officials will first discuss how to do business with the County and will then lead a session on construction and capital projects for those who would like to learn more about Hall County’s RFP process.
“Our commitment to the taxpayers of Hall County is to spend their money wisely, so we’re constantly working to increase the number of suppliers vying for our business.” Sims said.
The vendor conference will introduce potential suppliers and vendors to buyers and contracting officers and explain the bidding procedures and requirements.
“It is important to us that we encourage more businesses to place bids on our contracts,” Sims said. “This Conference will give them the tools they need to do that.”
Interested parties can find the Hall County Vendor Conference registration information on the County’s homepage at www.hallcounty.org. An explanation of how to do business with the County as well as projects currently open for bid are also available on the County’s website under the “Doing Business” tab.
The deadline to register for the conference is May 15.
