Parental Accountability Court

Individualized Services
The Hall County Parental Accountability Court's mission is to secure the payment of fair and reasonable child support obligations by the non-custodial parent by providing individualized services to remove barriers that keep the participant from being compliant with their court-ordered child support obligations. Examples of barriers include such as:
  • Homelessness
  • Illiteracy
  • Substance abuse
  • Unemployment
Eligibility
A partnership with the Department of Child Support Services, this non-criminal, civil problem-solving court program began in 2011. In order to be accepted into the program, individuals must be:
  • Incarcerated or be in contempt of court for failure to pay child support/child abandonment or referred in lieu of incarceration by a Superior Court judge
  • Have a child support case within the Northeastern Judicial Circuit and an active contempt by the Department of Child Support Services
  • Be the non-custodial parent
  • Be clear of any pending violent felony charges and/or holds to include those from other jurisdictions
