Guardian ad Litem Program

About the Program
The Northeastern Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program recruits, trains, and assists volunteer GALs for Hall and Dawson County Superior Court cases where child custody and visitation are disputed. GALs are appointed by the court in individual cases to serve as fact-finders and represent the best interests of the children.

An appointed GAL will interview, visit and attend meetings with the parties/children involved in the case and submit his or her findings and recommendations to the court. The GAL may also do any follow-up assignments ordered by the court.
