Employee Training Courses & Seminars
Human Resources is pleased to announce several training opportunities, scheduled this Fall, for county employees.

Courses Offered

  1. Customer Service for Fire & Safety Personnel

    This class is open to all Fire and EMS personnel and will focus on the sometimes difficult task of providing excellent customer service in an emergency or crisis situation. Focus will be on serving not only the patient, but emotional family members and bystanders as well.

  2. Customer Service in a Government Organization

    Participants in this class will learn to refine and develop key customer service skills for serving the tax payer / citizen. Topics of discussion will include the unique culture of working in public service, expectations of the tax payer, serving internal customers, key customer skills, handling angry customers, and developing a workplace that promotes and encourages customer service values.

  3. Defensive Driving

    These classes will be taught by Michelle Hopkins, Loss Control Specialist. All county employees who drive a county car are required to attend a defensive driving class. Look up dates and locations for these classes.

  4. Focusing on Domestic Violence

    October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. In conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness month, Human Resources is proud to present a Lunch and Learn session focusing on the issue of domestic violence and partner abuse.

  5. Harassment in the Workplace

    Participants in this class will learn to recognize harassing behaviors in the workplace. Topics of discussion will include various types of harassment, hostile work environment, the impact harassment has on the victim and the employer, and the laws preventing harassment. Participants will also discuss Hall County's policies regarding harassment in the workplace.

  6. Processing Personnel & Position Changes

    Participants in this short, informative course will focus on the administrative steps taken to bring newly hired employees to work, and making changes in personnel and positions.

  7. Supervisory Skills

    This is a 1 day workshop for those employees who supervise or manage other staff members. This class is especially beneficial for new supervisors. The class will provide information on the roles and responsibilities of a manager, as well as how to motivate and develop employees. The class includes videos and workbooks.
